Long time NBA sideline reporter Craig Sager has passed away at the age of 65 on December 15, 2016  in Atlanta, Georgia after a long battle with Leukemia.

This past Summer Sager was the recipient of the Jimmy V Espy Award for Perseverance. He gave an inspiring speech and talked about how important it is to fight and never give up in life. Sager is a true pioneer in the sports broadcasting industry. He did sports reporting for Turner Sports, NBC Sports, CNN and TNT.

Sager was also known for his unique wardrobe. He always wore very colorful and eccentric suits every time he graced us with his presence on television during game time. A style that can be mimicked but never duplicated. His interviews with coaches like Greg Popovich, and legendary players like Kobe Bryant, Lebron James and many more will live in the hearts of NBA fans forever.

“Time is simply, how you live your life” said Sager.

He indeed lived his life to the fullest everyday he woke up, and will continue to inspire the next generation of sports broadcasters everywhere.

Rest in Peace Craig.
