BRANDON WILLIAMS
UPPER MARLBORO, MD – The Golden State Warriors marched back into the Quicken Loans Arena for game 4 of the NBA Finals with confidence as they had another championship in their sights! Coming off a game 3 performance where we saw last years Finals MVP Kevin Durant dropped 43 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists on the Cavs, fans were itching to see what the Warriors would do next.
Well after last night Dub Nation saw witness their team bring home their third championship in four years!
Over the last four years it seems like we have been watching the Warriors become a dynasty right before our eyes, minus a setback in 2016 when LeBron and the Cavs brought a championship to Cleveland.
However, after the acquisition of Kevin Durant later in the offseason, the Warriors were a picked as the favorites to win the championship once he put the pen to paper. It was only a matter of time before they all realized how much of a problem they would be. Not just for the Cavs, but for the entire NBA.
“So I learned that a long time ago, and I just tried to get better each and every year, more comfortable, more experienced each and every year” said Durant.
As time has went on it seems like the offensive play of the Warriors has gone up exponentially with his arrival to the bay area, and in this years NBA finals the dominance of Golden State was put on full display. The splash brothers (Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson) put on a show in games one and two, but game three was all about Kevin Durant!
“This game for him was like deja vu of Game 3 last year for him, just all the way around” said Draymond Green.
If we rewind and go back in time to Game 3 of the finals last year, you will remember that Durant hit a game clinching shot that solidified the outcome of that game, and this years game three was very similar in some ways.
Many people are starting to recognize the Warriors as a dynasty, and that has a nice ring to it. The question is, how long can they keep this up? Only time will tell. For right now you will have to address them as champions.
