Kevin Durant Takes Off in Game 3!

UPPER MARLBORO, MD – Brandon Williams

The Cleveland Cavaliers find themselves in a deep 0-3 hole after loosing game 3 of the NBA Finals to the Golden State Warriors 110 to 102 in Cleveland this past Wednesday night. Games one and two are both games that LeBron James and the rest of the Cavs wanted to put behind them, but they just couldn’t escape the wrath of last year’s finals MVP Kevin Durant (43pts, 13reb & 7ast).

This was a game where we saw two-time league MVP Stephen Curry have one of his most unproductive shooting nights after he just set a new record for most made three’s (9) in a Finals game in-game two. Curry went 3 of 16 from the field and 1 of 10 from behind the three-point line. This is a rare occurrence for Curry and these cold streaks of his usually don’t last very long.

“I just tried to play hard defense, tried to rebound as best as I could and if my shots were there just take them patiently” said Durant.

Many fans and members of the media have given Durant a hard time for not being as assertive when it comes to demanding the ball late in the fourth quarter. Durant is recognized as one of the top three basketball players in the world and is a match up problem for anyone that tries to guard him one on one.

“That was amazing what he did out there tonight” said head coach Steve Kerr.

The Warriors are now one win away from capturing their third NBA championship in the last four years. And if they beat the Cavaliers tonight in Cleveland, it will be the ninth sweep in NBA Finals history.
