This is really starting to become a thing in the NFL. The New England Patriots have sent home the Jacksonville Jaguars after beating them in the AFC Championship game 24-20.
The Jags had a lot of confidence heading into the game, after beating the Steelers at Pittsburgh last week, but this week however, they went up against a different beast whose name is not Ben Roethlisberger. This beasts name is Tom Brady, a five time Super Bow champion, first ballet hall of famer and could very well be on his way to winning his sixth Super Bowl title.
The Jaguars got off to a good start with some big passing plays down field that set up their first touchdown, and handed the ball off to their star rookie running back Leonard Fournette. Fournette showed a lot of promise during these playoffs and the regular season. He finished the game with 24 rushes for 76 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, “the goat” finished 26 for 38 for 290 passing yards and two touchdowns. Time and time again Brady continues to show that age is really nothing but a number, and with all the noise about the hand injury that he suffered this week in practice, many were wondering if he would even start. However, “Psycho Tom” had other plans for the Jaguars.
” I’ve had a lot worse” Brady said. ” I didn’t know that on Wednesday. It was a crazy injury. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday was a little crazy. Then I started getting some confidence and today we did just enough to win.”
As a result of Brady’s second half heroics the Patriots are headed to their third Super Bowl appearance in the last four seasons. The big question now is, can they beat the red-hot eagles?
