Football was back in the conversation in College Park, MD as the Terrapins took on the Howard University Bison. This was the beginning of a new era under new head coach D.J. Durkin, who is the 36th head football coach in University of Maryland history.
The Terrapins had over 200 rushing yards today in today’s game. Six different Running Backs scored a touchdown which help Maryland jump to an early 25-0 lead in the 1st quarter. Lorenzo Harrison, Kenneth Goins Jr., Jake Funk, Trey Edmunds, and Ty Johnson all had a rushing touchdown that helped lead the Terrapins to victory.
Howard definitely had its chances at moving the ball down field, but the Terrapin defense proved to be too much to handle. Junior defensive back Josh Woods stood out on defense today. He had 11 total tackles on the day for the Terrapins defense.
The Terrapins will take on the FIU Panthers in Miami next week, which will be their second non-conference game of the year.
