The Olympics always brings us unforgettable moments. One of the most recent moments the Olympics has given us involved what I like to call “Vintage Black Girl Magic!”
The magic involved U.S women Olympic hurdlers Brianna Rollins, Nia Ali and Kristi Castlin. Who on Wednesday night made Olympic history by sweeping all the other competitors to win the Gold, Silver and Bronze in the women’s 100m hurdles.
A very proud moment for America, and a great moment for the female athletes that have been preparing for this event for four long years.
According to the Los Angeles Times, “Rollins clocked 12.48 seconds and was followed by teammates Nia Ali (12.59) and Kristi Castlin (12.61), who edged Britain’s Cindy Ofili (12.63) with a lean at the finish line.”
This is a great example of Black Excellence at its finest, but there is still more to come.
