Pat Summitt gone but not forgotten

There have been many women in the sports world that have left a lPat Summitt Articleasting impact on the lives of athletes and fans alike. The legendary Womens Basketball Coach at the University of Tennessee passed away this morning at the age of 64. She was the head coach from 1974 to 2012, and she had a coaching record of 1,098 wins and 208 losses. She also had an international record of 63-4. All of these were amazing accomplishments and deserve to be praise and admired.

However, the greatest accomplishment of her career was the impact that she left on the players she coached. “You can’t always be the strongest or most talented or most gifted person in the room, but you can be the most competitive” is one of her most famous quotes that doesn’t just resonate with women, but for all athletes.

Its one thing for a coach to teach you how to win in a respective sport, but its another thing for a coach to teach you how to win in life and Pat Summitt did just that.
