Washington D.C. – Not too many chances are left for the Wizards left in this season. With seven games left on the schedule and three games behind the eighth playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Sitting at 36-39 right now is doesn’t look good for the red, white and blue.
Despite all of that they still might have a shot. The Wizards not only have to win out, but they also need help from a few teams.
Going back to tonight there was a lack of efficient offensive play. Not to mention they had to deal with DeMarcus Cousins who went on a tear tonight scoring 29 points, 10 boards, 4 dimes and 5 steals. All game long he was a problem that the Wizards had to deal with and he just proved why is one of the dominant players in the league. Otto Porter however came up big and played a major role in trying to keep his team in the game as long as he could. He dropped 20 points, 1 board and 4 dimes.
“To me it just felt like we gave up” said Bradley Beal in a post game interview. The Wizards seemed very much out of sync and looked to have given up when they had opportunities to come rallying back. At some point you have to say enough is enough and play with some attitude.
Also allow me to point out that John Wall the face of the franchise has not been looking like himself lately. Reasons for this is fatigue and a lack of help. This is a crucial point in the season when the Wizards need him at his best, and he seems to be running low on gas.
