There are a few things that are essential when looking to recruit a high school Wide Receiver prospect. The tangibles that are needed are of course route running, speed, endurance and toughness. Local 3 star prospect Niko Rice has all of those tangibles and more. Rice is a DMV native and attends The John Carroll School in Bel Air Maryland. Niko also excels in the classroom and as a result of that he holds a 3.8 GPA
The 6’1 185 Ibs has recieved many college offers from some of the top college football programs in the country. West Virginia University (WVU) , Boston College, Maryland, Auburn, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Columbia University have all showed interest in this young man who runs a 4.5 and has an impeccable act for finding the ball in the air. When you watch this kid on film you will notice that he is always outside the numbers making plays. Not only that but he isn’t afraid to block for his fellow Receivers and Running Backs down field.
With one more season of High School Football to be played Rice has yet to make his final decision. One things for sure whatever school he decides to attend will get a player that works hard, loves the game and has the “it” factor. With the way the game is evolving right now Wide Receivers are in higher demand now more than ever. Not just the Receivers that can run fast and get behind a defense. Route tree running Wide Receivers are where the money is at. Rice fits that mold and is a very interesting prospect in the eyes of many.
