Unlike the last five games for the Wizards tonight they got the job done in convincing fashion. From the start of the game to the end of regulation.
It all started with John Wall who early on in the game made it clear that this was a must win for him and his teammates. Going up against a Pistons team who at one point were tied with the Wizards for a chance to get a spot in the eastern conference playoffs. With the Wizards win tonight they Wizards have not only broken the tie, but have also put themselves in a position to get a spot in the east come playoff time.
However, they have to remain consistent in order to make that dream come true.
Offensively tonight the Wizards were very dominant. The mid range game was on point as well as the them forcing down their way underneath the basket to get those tough shots off. The big men really had good games tonight. Marcin Gortat had 16 points with 6 rebounds and 2 assists, while NeNe recorded 20 points with 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Which was the most points that NeNe scored in a single game this season. Also i think its safe to say that NeNe earned himself a spot in the Sports Center Top 10 with a thunderous dunk he had during the 2nd quarter.
John Wall also had a stellar performance tonight by recording his 39th double-double of the season. Scoring 15 points and 12 assists. In a statement Wall made during a post game interview he said that he believes that a lot of teams are hoping that the Wizards miss the playoffs because “they know what type of team we are” Wall said.
However, the true test of them becoming a playoff team has yet to come.
