What an incredible week it has been leading up to SuperBowl 50. A lot of anticipation, questions and expectations that were being talked about up until kickoff.
The start of the game felt like two heavyweight boxers feeling each other out in the first round. Trading blows with each other trying to see who can take the most punishment.
Early on both defenses proved to be game ready, but the defense that really played great was the Broncos defense. Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips coached an incredible game tonight defensively. However, as a team the Broncos really pulled it out.
With this victory this marks Peyton Mannings 200th career win, and 2nd SuperBowl title. He is now the only QB in NFL History to take two teams to two SuperBowls and win with each one.
As for the Panthers who all season long have been nothing short of excellent fell short tonight. Von Miller and the Broncos defense got to the reigning NFL MVP Cam Newton all game long. They recorded 6 sacks on him and had 10 QB Hits. Not only that but the Broncos secondary really did a good job of keeping the Panthers recievers in check. Turnovers also played a pivotal role in the game tonight as well.
The Broncos had a total of 2 turnovers, while the Panthers had 4. The panthers also had a chance to take the lead late in the 4th quarter, but the Broncos defense came through just like they have been doing all season long.
Von Miller was awarded the SuperBowl MVP and had a total of 2.5 sacks tonight, with 6 tackles. Demarcus Ware who finally after what seems like a long career is finally able to say he is a world champion.
However, the fans still want to ask”Was this Peyton’s last rodeo?”
