Coming off of two straight losses it seemed as though the Wizards were having another one of those long loosing stretches of the season. Monday they lost to the Trail Blazers 108 to 98, and the game before that they lost a close on against the Boston Celtics 119 to 117. Going into tonight’s game against the Miami Heat it is safe to say that the DC faithful were hungry for a win at home.
The Heat right now are hit hard with injuries and as a result were not able to start key players like Dwayne Wade, Beno Udrih, and Goran Dragic. In the early stages of the game the Wizards attacked with NeNe and Gortat, which proved to be very effective. Both of them had good performances tonight overall. NeNe put up 16 points, 6 rebounds and 1 assist. Gortat had 15 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists. Tonights game plan for getting the two big men involved early really paid dividends. Bradly Beal also saw some playing time tonight, and he had himself another good night with 18 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. The more minutes he gets as the season continues the more of a threat this team will be. However, they will be cautious to not use him too much because they still want to make sure that he can go when they need him later on near the end of the season.
Now the main person that the Wizards keyed on tonight was Chris Bosh who had 18 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. With Wade and other key players out tonight he was heavily called upon during tonights game. Next on the schedule for the Wizards is the Utah Jazz on the 23rd. The final score tonight was 106 to 87.
