Wizards having trouble at home with Cavs in town

Tonight I felt a lot of anticipation for the match up between John Wall, and Kyrie Irvin. Both of whom are in the race to be All Star Point Guards this season. However, tonight was not all about them, but more so the teams. From start to finish this was a very interesting game to watch. At the beginning it was closely contested, but then the cavalier started to pull away a little bit. At the half the score was 62-50.

When the third quarter came the Cavaliers looked to have the game in control, and for the most part they did. Both Lebron James, and Kyrie Irvin had outstanding third quarters. Lebron was 12/22 from the field, and Kyrie was 14/22 from the field, but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention JR Smith who went 10/16 on field goals. Not only that he was 4/5 from 3 point range early in the game. As for the Wizards John Wall was 8/19 from the field and had 20 points on the night, G. Temple had 21 points on the night and was 7/10 from the field. Also, NeNe made his return tonight and had 7 points. While the Cavaliers were riding away during the third quarter the Wizards tied the game up 95, and started to gain a little momentum.

However, they were not able to maintain the lead, and one of the big reasons why was because of Kyrie Irvin. He scored 19 points in the fourth quarter and just seemed to be flatout unstoppable. Some of the motivation behind that had to be because of how aggressive John Wall was going after him. They really put on a show for the fans, and I think it impressed their teammates too.

After tonights loss the Wizards are 8-10 at home, and have an overall record of 15 – 18. The final score was 121 – 115.  On friday they play against the Toronto Raptors at 7 pm.
