Ike Taylor Calls it a Career

Once again another member and veteran of the Pittsburgh Steelers calls it a career. Cornerback Ike Taylor retired on announced his retirement from the NFL on April 14, 2015 after 12 season with the steelers. He along with Troy Polamalu spent his entire NFL career  with the steelers and won two superbowls. He is also a three time AFC Champion. The steelers drafted Taylor in 2003 in the 4th round of the NFL Draft.

He has been regarded as one of the true shutdown corners in the league and left an amazing impact on the cornerback position. During the steelers super bowl  won back in 2005 he recorded seven tackles, two passes defended and an interception that sealed the game for the steelers.

Not only did he have great coverage skills, but he was also a big hitter. He always delivered hits that would cause you to sometimes cringe and look the other way. Even though people criticize him because of his short interception list he still has shown that he is a force t0 be reckoned with.

Over the course of his career he has recorded 636 tackles,3.0 sacks, 14 interceptions and 4 recovered fumbles. Needless to say the numbers speak for themselves. I hope Ike Taylor rides off into the sunset and enjoys life after football.
