After a 13 month layoff due to what many people called a career ending leg injury, UFC legend Anderson ” The Spider” Silva made his return to the Octagon at UFC 183. This was a very much anticipated match up between two very respected fighters.
Anderson Silva won the bout by unanimous decision. However this moment of glory wouldn’t last very long. As we all know before every UFC bout each fighter must take a drug test. Anderson Silva’s was administered on January 9 according to UFC sources. The results were not given until three days after the fight. It came out that Silva tested positive for steroid use in the fight.
This was very shocking to alot of UFC fans to say the least. Now alot of people are questioning his credibility. This may lead to some speculation about drug tests from previous fights in his career. I was very shocked at this because Anderson Silva is widely considered the best of all time. I would have never guessed for him to be “that guy”. He needs to make a statement and explain why he did what he did. This is unacceptable for a fighter with his type of talent.
