This was a game with a lot on the line. The winning team of today’s contest would advance to the AFC Championship game. The Ravens came in with a lot of momentum after beating their divisional rival the Pittsburgh Steelers the previous week.
On their first possession of the game the Ravens drove the ball down the field and was able to strike first with a touchdown. Then on their second offensive possession of the game they did the exact same thing leading the Patriots 14-0 in the first quarter. The Patriots would answer back with two touchdowns. One in the first quarter and second quarter, but right before halftime the Ravens would score again to take the lead.
In the second half the Patriots would make some changes on defense and offense. They started to blitz more to put Joe Flacco under pressure. It was working until the Ravens scored another touchdown. Unfortunately Baltimore’s scoring streak would be cut short by the Patriots secondary. With two second half interceptions thrown by Joe Flacco the Ravens would fall the Patriots 35-31. Great effort by the Ravens I have a feeling they will be back in the postseason next season.
