NFL WildCard Weekend Ravens vs Steelers 1/3/15

It is the first round of the NFL Wildcard Weekend and a rivalry was renewed today. The Ravens and Steelers rivalry is one of many unforgetable moments. From big hits to big plays the whole nine. On this night this game would decide who would go on to round two and who would go home. Most of these meetings between these two teams came down to a three point difference in the score.

I really didn’t know who to root for in this contest, but i did know that it was going to be a battle from the start. Some key things that added to the story line of this game were some key injuries. Steelers Running Back Le’veon Bell suffered a right knee injury against the Bengals in the final regular season game. Also, Ravens Defensive Tackle Haloti Ngata returned to action tonight for the first time after missing the last few games of the regular season after being suspended for violating the NFL’s Substance Abuse Policy. So those two things played a crucial part in tonight’s contest.

The Ravens Defense played great all night. Linebacker Terrell Suggs recored six tackles on the night along with a game changing fourth quarter interception. Elvis Dumervil had three tackles on the night with two sacks. Needless to say the front four of the Ravens defense kept Steelers Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger under pressure for the majority of the game. Big Ben threw two interceptions on the night.

So now the Ravens move on to next Saturday to face the New England Patriots who had a first round bye this week. That should be a great game and i hope you guys will be watching like i will be. The final score of tonight’s game was 30 -17.
